Take your fund raising to a level beyond magazine subscriptions and giant novelty chocolate bars — sell fresh roasted coffee!

Let us anticipate your questions:

What are you getting?
14 oz. bags of fresh roasted coffee, whole bean or ground.
What is the cost?
Single-origin coffees (Brazil, Colombian, etc.) and blends go for our current wholesale price, flavored coffees (Highlander Grogg, Vanilla, etc.) are slightly higher. Contact us for our current prices. If you go with a custom label, you will be charged for the cost of printing them.
How does it all work?
First, you select 5 of our varieties of coffee. Then you sell using one methods listed:
  • The traditional “store method” in which you purchase a fixed number of bags and sell them one-by-one.
  • Pre-selling the bags, which is just like any traditional school fund raiser but you’re selling coffee instead of frozen pizzas or giant candy bars.
  • Online sales. (Restrictions apply, see below.)
What is the process?
  • Store method: You pick out a number of fresh roasted coffees, whole bean or ground. They are delivered to you by a set date, and you sell them. You will be billed the wholesale cost of the coffee plus shipping if applicable. You keep all the profits. Muggsy’s Beans will not buy back any unsold product.
  • Pre-selling: The most traditional way of doing a fundraiser. Your sales force is provided with an order sheet (make your own, or we can provide you with one to copy) and sent out to sell fresh roasted coffee and collect payments. You total the order sheets and get that number to Muggsy’s Beans. We then fill the order and deliver it to you in bulk. You are responsible for collecting payments, separating, organizing and delivering the orders to the individual customers. You will be billed the wholesale cost of the coffee plus shipping if applicable. You keep all the profits.
  • Online sales: Muggsy’s Beans sets up a sale for you on our web site. We collect all the orders and payments, and deliver the order to you in bulk. You are responsible for separating, organizing and delivering the orders to the individual customers, which will be provided to you both with invoices for each order and an online spreadsheet. We do not offer shipping of individual orders at this time. Finally, we send you a check for your total sales minus the wholesale cost of the beans, printing costs, and shipping if applicable.
What about that deadline thing?
We both know that people are terrible at turning things in on time, so we set up what we call a “soft deadline” and a “hard deadline.” The turn in date you tell the students or members is the “soft deadline.” The “hard deadline” is just between you and us, and is several days later. For example, you tell the kids you need the sheets turned in by Monday, but you don’t submit the order to us until Wednesday or Thursday, that allows for the inevitable late turn ins. IMPORTANT: Once the hard deadline happens, no additional orders will be taken. Soft deadline not available for online sales.
Can we have a custom label?
You bet you can! We encourage it, in fact. We can design it for you, or you can submit one of your own. if you decide to make your own, let us know because there is information that is required to be on the label. More information can be found on our custom labeling page.
How long does it take?
We require seven business days to roast and package your order. If your order is particularly large, additional time may be needed (also, good for you!).
Anything else? Any suggestions?
We can provide you with an order sheet, or you can design your own. If you have a logo, that’s a great addition to the order sheet, also a short paragraph explaining what the fundraiser is for, or about the organization, is helpful.
